Job Context
- Accounting Manager – Bangladesh
Job Responsibilities
- Main contact for all compliance, Audit and corporate accounting and tax issues
- Ensure together with compliance officers that all local rules and regulations are complied with
- Work with external parties, vendors like Auditors, Tax Outsourced partners, other local authorities and internal stakeholders to ensure that all audit and tax related matters are dealt with timely and efficiently
- Anchor of all accounting deliveries in the country
- Drives the delivery of working capital (OTC, PTP, and RTP) across the country in close collaboration with GSC (where most is owned and managed) and part of the country where still locally owned
- Ensures a timely book close where still managed locally and in close collaboration with the GSC and WCA Region Finance.
- Owns and provides insight into the area Financial Statements to Regional Controller/Area Accounting manager through close cooperation with the GSC
- Ownership of Monthly /Annual accounts and budget control
- Steering financial performance with management and take corrective action
- Optimize liquidity control and realization of trapped fund
- Regional owner of Project Green
- Be a sparring partner to GSC project team to ensure an efficient (on time and on target) delivery of Project Green
- Challenge GSC on ability to deliver the expected outcomes through hypercare
- Others:
- To assist the Maersk Country Manager and the Regional Security Officer on security issues.

Educational Requirements
- Master of Commerce (MCom)
- Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent
- Qualified CA/CS Preferred
Experience Requirements
- At least 10 year(s)
Additional Requirements
- Minimum 10-12 years’ experience within a business partnering environment, working as part of a business leadership team
- Possess strong domain knowledge
- Proven ability to influence without authority and engage confidently with leaders at all levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Possess strong data analytics skills and knowledge of advanced data analytical tools will be an advantage
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (presentation skills)
- Have the ability to work under pressure – stringent deadlines and tough client conditions that may demand extended working hours.
- Ability to work well in teams
- Should be able to drive projects / process improvements
